Find Articles: Explore your topic, get the facts

  1. Gale Virtual Reference Library is a good starting point for your research. These reference articles provide valuable background information on almost any research topic.
    • For example, type in the top search box:     benefits of higher education
  2. The Library's databases by subject page lists databases in categories, making it easy to select a database which fits your topic.
  3. Graduation Day! MiraCosta College GraduatesNext, try searching for news, magazine, and scholarly articles in our EBSCOhost databases.  Try using the "Advanced Search" option.

Current news articles from the Los Angeles Times and New York Times are excellent current and reliable sources to learn what's happening today. 

 

Web Articles: Choose Wisely

  1. Google it, but first... Some questions to ask:
  2. Take a look at who is publishing the site. Have you heard of this organization?
  3. Note: A commercial (for profit) entity may have bias.
  4. Who is the author? Trusted information has an author.
  5. Is the information current, or published in 2002?
