Instructions for Returning Library Items

RETURNING LIBRARY ITEMS

 

Please read carefully below as there are specific instructions, days and times for returning items.

 

Books/DVDs/CDs

Please return these items to either of the drop boxes at the main Oceanside campus. The return box at San Elijo is blocked due to construction and the CLC drop box is inside the closed building, so please do not attempt to return items to these locations. At the main Oceanside campus, there is a drive-up drop box in parking lot 1B, across from the Police Station. The second drop box is in front of the Library and Information Hub, Building 1200. Please do not return library equipment into these boxes. Read below for return of equipment, including laptops, hotspots and calculators.

 

Return of laptops/hotspots/calculators

 

Please look at the schedule below and find a time that will work for your equipment return.

 

Drop off days and times:

 

Tuesday, May 26 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Wednesday, May 27 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Thursday, May 28 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm 

Monday, June 1 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Tuesday, June 2 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
 

In accordance with local regulations, you must wear a mask when you are walking on campus and returning your items.  Please go to the library building at the main Oceanside campus (1200 Library and Information Hub) and you will see staff and several tables and cones near the front entrance. Please follow the signs for returning your equipment. Staff will ask to see each piece of equipment from at least a 6-foot distance. If you are not wearing a mask, you will be asked to return at a later time wearing a mask. Staff will not take equipment back if you are not wearing a mask, so please be prepared.

 

 Please check in advance to make sure you have the following items with you for return:

 

Laptop - check for all items

  • Laptop
  • Charger - two pieces containing wall plug and plug into computer
  • Laptop bag (some library laptops were checked out with bags)

Hotspot - check for all items

  • Hotspot device
  • Charger - two pieces containing wall plug and USB cable
  • Hotspot case (some library hotspots were checked out with cases)

 Calculators

  • Most calculators have a cover that slides on; please be sure the cover is returned with the calculator.

You will receive a return receipt via email once your return is complete.  If there are pieces of equipment missing, such as chargers, your student account will be charged for its replacement cost and there will be a hold placed on your account. This can delay future registration, so please locate all pieces before returning the items to campus.

If you are registered and confirmed for summer 2020 classes and need to continue to use this equipment, please email me back with that information and we will extend the checkout. All equipment will need to be returned prior to fall. You will receive additional information later this summer on returning equipment borrowed for summer.
