Scheduling System and Staffing Policy

LibStaffer

Springshare uses the LibStaffer system to manage the Academic Global Co-operative (AGC) schedule.  Librarians who will be staffing AGC hours will need individual LibStaffer accounts.  Local admins will request new accounts (and deactivate old ones) using the Account Change form.  Please see specific scheduling instructions in the boxes below.

Staffing Policy

Libraries who are contributing (AGC) hours are expected to staff their regularly scheduled AGC shifts when your college is in session.  You do not need to staff your AGC when your library is closed for the following reasons:

  • intersession breaks
  • Spring break
  • holidays
  • emergency closures

You are expected to make up missed AGC hours for the following reasons:

  • illness
  • a meeting/schedule conflict
  • transportation issues

Contact Wren Spangler (wspangler@springshare.com) or Glorian Sipman (gsipman@miracosta.edu) if you need assistance.

Permanent Shift Schedule

Fall & Spring Semesters

If you need to set up or change your Academic Global Co-operative (AGC) schedule, please use the Permanent Schedule Change Inquiry form in LibStaffer.  This form can be submitted by an individual librarian or the local admin.

Summer Sessions

If your library is staffing AGC hours during the summer, but there will be rotation to who is assigned, please fill out the Rotating Shifts form in LibStaffer.

If your library is not staffing AGC hours during Summer session, please fill out the TIme Off form in LibStaffer; also use this form to note closure dates before and after Summer session, even if you are staffing.

Other Scheduling Changes

Individual librarians who need to make one-time adjustments should follow the "Drop an Assigned Shift" and "Pick Up a Replacement Shift" directions below (note: you can drop a shift and then pick up the replacement shift at a later time):

Drop an Assigned Shift
See: https://ask.springshare.com/libstaffer/faq/2644

Pick Up a Replacement Shift
See: https://ask.springshare.com/libstaffer/faq/259

It isn't recommended that you use the "Give Up" or "Swap" options that are listed, as these are more complicated transactions.

If the individual librarian is unable to drop their shift, the local admin can do this for them, by using the Time Off form in LibStaffer.
